Ph.D. Student, Higher Education Administration

Standard File

Jennifer Dunfee is a part-time Ph.D. student in the Higher Education Administration program. Jenny works full-time as the Associate Director of Fitness and Wellness at William & Mary. She received her B.A. in Health Sciences at James Madison University and her M.S. Ed. in Health Promotion at Virginia Tech.

With 14 years of professional experiences at W&M, Jenny started taking classes in the School of Education as a non-degree seeking student. Reflecting on her choice of going back for more graduate education, Jenny said, "I was a little intimidated to go back to school, but the professors and my classmates quickly made me feel comfortable. After taking four classes as a non-degree seeking student, I applied to the PhD program in Higher Education Administration. Being a Ph.D. student in the EPPL program has enriched my life both personally and as a health and wellness practitioner. The professors in the EPPL program are supportive of my research interests and help me find ways to work-related topics into class assignments. I have also found the professors in the EPPL program to be very supportive of me as a full-time working professional and as a parent to two young children. I am grateful for the opportunity to work towards my Ph.D. in Higher Education at William & Mary."
