Accreditation
Professional education programs in the School of Education are nationally recognized and accredited by the Virginia Department of Education. The School of Education is accredited by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. Through consultation with advisors in the School of Education, students plan programs of study leading to professional certification by the Virginia Department of Education. By means of the NASDTEC Interstate Compact, graduates who qualify for teacher certification in Virginia will qualify for certification in 41 other states.
The School Psychology program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
The Counselor Education programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
