Professor Talbott grew up in West Virginia and earned her B.S., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees from Virginia institutions. She was a mental health worker at UVA's Blue Ridge hospital and a special education teacher in Albemarle County, VA schools. Dr. Talbott was a professor in special education at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) for 24 years, serving as department chair for 10 of those years. Her career has been devoted to the study and teaching of evidence-based practices for youth with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities. Learn more about Dr. Talbott.
