Advanced Placement Summer Institute

Purpose

CB logoThe Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI) is designed to help new, beginning, and current Advanced Placement (AP) high school teachers plan and implement more effective AP programs in their schools.

The AP Summer Institute will have both online and in-person options (see below). This year we are offering AP Capstone and AP PBL sessions as well.

All workshops are an intensive training on the curriculum and teaching methods of AP courses. Each course workshop also explores the content, structure, and grading of the AP exams. In addition, the workshops afford teachers the opportunity to interact with colleagues and to discuss issues and concerns surrounding the AP courses they will teach.

*Teachers must register themselves with their College Board account, administrators CANNOT register teachers. Teachers, if you do not have a College Board account, you can create one when registering.

    • Biology include extra $25 Lab fee

How do payments work? Schools or Administrators Paying?

Many schools will pay for their teachers' registrations. If you are an administrator or school staff that is trying to pay for your teachers' registrations, we have a few options for you.

  1. Please have your teachers register for their session first.
  2. Ask them to forward you the confirmation email.
  3. Payment Options:
    1. Mail checks, including invoice(s) to: Center for Gifted Education - APSI, PO Box  8795, Williamsburg, VA 23187
    2. Pay by Credit Card at our Payment Portal 
    3. Email cfgepd@wm.edu a Purchase Order if one is needed to make payment.

*There are no refunds for cancellations made within 3 weeks of the session start date.
