Michael F. Dipaola '69

Chancellor Professor of Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership

Mike DiPaola returned to his alma mater in 1998 after a K-12 career that spanned from teacher to assistant principal, principal and superintendent. Having served as senior administrator of a school district, he was excited that his role at W&M would allow him to teach again, pursue research projects, forge partnerships with colleagues and practitioners and continue his own personal growth.

Over the course of his tenure at William & Mary he collaborated with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and K-12 partners—and he found it especially rewarding to co-publish research with current and former students. His teaching and research interests include social processes in school organizations, improving instruction, and educational leadership.

"Working at W&M was never boring because the program was constantly innovating and pursuing new ideas from a curricular point of view. It’s been most rewarding to see my former students move on to roles as school administrators and professors."
