Rachel Boyd Potter '99, M.Ed. '00
Dr. Rachel Boyd Potter '99, M.Ed. '00 was recently named as the dean of the new College of Education at Mary Baldwin College.
With a background in secondary education as well as curriculum and instruction, Dr. Potter has served as a special education teacher, an administrator at the building and district levels, and a principal at a juvenile detention facility. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Virginia and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2013.
Dr. Potter's research interests include educator preparation as it pertains to work with diverse populations of students, as well as autism and applied behavior analysis. As dean of the new College of Education, she will oversee a streamlining of program offerings in order to increase the efficiency of pathways to graduation for all of the College's education students.
