Dr. Drew Polly '99
PI of a $5 million Mathematics Science Partnership grant
Drew Polly '99 was recently awarded with the Innovator Award by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics for his outstanding contributions to mathematics education and schools in North Carolina.
Associate Professor in elementary education at UNC-Charlotte, Professor Polly is a co-Principal Investigator of a $5 million professional development grant on mathematics formative assessment for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2.
Dr. Polly was previously recognized by the UNC Charlotte College of Education for his Sustained Service to Public Schools.
Areas of Interest and Research: Research and teaching focus on supporting pre-service and in-service teachers design and implementation of learner-centered tasks. Work explores how teacher education and professional development programs can most effectively support teachers' efforts to integrate technology and learner-centered tasks into their classroom.
