GRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY - CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION (Teacher Education)
Emily Elizabeth Yowell Braswell & Richard Hall Braswell Scholarship This endowment provides support for students enrolled in the Curriculum & Instruction MAEd program, including William & Mary students admitted to the 5 year BA to MAEd program. $4,100
Matthew W. Hershberger Memorial Scholarship To support graduate students pursuing a degree in Special Education.   Preference will be given to those students who completed the undergraduate degree from William and Mary. $1,000*
Jennings Family Scholarship For students in the Graduate School of Education with financial need, and with a preference for a student pursuing a reading specialist program, who is a legal resident of Virginia, and who has stated his/her intention to teach in Virginia. $2,850*

 

 

Frances J. Smith Memorial Scholarship For a graduate student pursuing the master's program in Secondary English Education.  Preference given to a student who completed his/her undergraduate degree at The College of William and Mary.  $2,300*
Janet Peirce Whitehead Memorial Scholarship For graduate students in Curriculum & Instruction programs in the School of Education TBD

Elementary - Student must be an Undergraduate majoring in Elementary Education.

Kathryn W. and Christopher C. Colenda Education Scholarship

Funds distributed from this endowment shall be used to provide need-based support for undergraduate students enrolled in a teacher education program in the William & Mary School of Education. This fund may also be used to support William & Mary graduate students enrolled in its five-year B.A. to M.A.Ed. program.

To support undergraduate students majoring in Education, who have financial need.

Ann Drischler Memorial Scholarship For students pursuing a teacher education program.  Preference for Virginia residents, or students who plan to teach in Virginia. $5,000*
S. Stuart Flanagan Family Scholarship For students in curriculum & instruction who demonstrate significant financial need; academic excellence; service to others; creativity; and entrepreneurial interests.  Preference given to residents of VA. $2,621*
S. Stuart Flanagan Family Mathematics Scholarship For undergraduate or graduate students in the Curriculum & Instruction program with a preference to students who demonstrate a spirit of independence, creativity, entrepreneurial interests and service to others. $3,700*
Mary Faust Galfo Science Teaching Award Secondary Science -For an undergraduate or a graduate student who shows outstanding promise in the teaching of science. $3,000*
Sarah Lindsey Gupta Memorial Scholarship For undergraduate or graduate students pursuing teacher education certification, with preference given to students with a demonstrated interest in teaching careers at the middle school level.  $3,100*
Frederick Hill Math Teaching Scholarship Secondary Math - For  student in math education with academic qualifications and honors and financial need. $8,000*
Hornsby Family Scholarship Elementary - For an undergraduate or graduate student in the School of Education who is preparing to teach at the primary grade levels and who understands the importance of establishing and nurturing positive relations between home and school and between families. $1,600*
Patriot Heritage Scholarship For Social Studies Education Secondary Social Studies - For meritorious graduate or undergraduate students interested in teaching social studies. $5,900*
The Peter and Phyllis Pruden Scholarship Elementary - For an undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Education, concentrating in elementary education who show financial need, academic distinction and good character; must be from VA, NC or TN. $5,000*
James E. & Barbara B. Ukrop Richmond City Public School Teacher Scholarship For an undergraduate or graduate student preparing to teach in critical shortage areas, who agrees to teach in the Richmond Public Schools. $7,500*
