M.Ed. in Counseling – Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Military & Veterans

Meet the behavioral health needs of those who have served. William & Mary’s M.Ed. in Counseling – Clinical Mental Health – Military & Veterans counseling concentration combines a strong foundation in professional counseling with specialized preparation for working with active-duty service members, veterans and military families.

Built upon our CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling curriculum, this specialization develops expertise in military culture, trauma-informed care, reintegration challenges, family transitions and the unique strengths and experiences of military-connected populations. Graduates are prepared to provide culturally responsive, evidence-based care in a variety of clinical settings.

The on-campus Military & Veterans concentration is not accepting applications for the 2026–2027 admission cycle. Prospective students are encouraged to apply to our fully online Military & Veterans concentration, the in-person general Clinical Mental Health program or the Relationship, Marriage & Family Counseling concentration, all of which are accepting applications.
