ESL/Bilingual Education

Want to become a teacher who is prepared to address issues of equity, support multilingual families and advance opportunity for young people? Faculty in the department of Curriculum & Instruction engage teacher candidates in foundational coursework and prepare them to use research-driven methods to engage diverse learners and promote positive and equitable learning outcomes. The sequence of coursework closely aligns with clinical field experiences, preparing teacher candidates for a spring semester of student teaching.

B.A.Ed. in Elementary Education (ESL track)
Choose a concentration in ESL/Bilingual Education for the B.A.Ed. in Elementary Education and be ready to step into the classroom after graduation.

Five-Year B.A. to M.A.Ed.
Complete your undergraduate degree, then bridge directly to a fifth year master's program in education.

M.A.Ed. in ESL/Bilingual Education
If you've already completed your bachelor's degree, join our 12-month, cohort-based master's program.

Certificate in ESL/Bilingual Education
Our on-campus 12-credit postbaccalaureate certificate allows previously-licensed teachers and current degree-seeking M.A.Ed. students to become certified in educating linguistically diverse students.

Minor in ESL/Bilingual Education
