Profile

Dr. Wiborg is a critical, qualitative scholar passionate about advancing equity and liberation in postsecondary leadership learning environments through applying creative qualitative methods. Dr. Wiborg’s teaching interests include a range of qualitative methods courses and higher education leadership courses. Prior to her faculty appointment, she was a teaching assistant and research assistant in the Leadership Learning Research Center at Florida State University, where she taught a range of undergraduate and graduate leadership courses. Further, she led multiple, collaborative research projects consisting of faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students on a range of topics that included emotionally intelligent leadership, leadership learning and student success, culturally relevant leadership learning, and socially responsible leadership. Dr. Wiborg also worked in student affairs administration, where she has experience working with leadership development, social justice, community engagement, orientation, student activities, fraternity and sorority life, and campus recreation. She has a published book with Drs. Kathy Guthrie and Cameron Beatty called “Engaging in the Leadership Process: Identity, Capacity, and Efficacy for College Students.” The text introduces readers to process-based understandings of leadership, providing language and tools for engaging in the leadership process for all involved.
