Bio

Alexis joined the William and Mary T/TAC team in July of 2024. Dr. Swanson’s career has taken her through 21 years of teaching and school administration.  She has served in the capacity of special educator, transition specialist, coordinator of federal programs, assistant principal, principal, and Assistant Superintendent of schools. Alexis has worked at all levels in K-12 from elementary to high school.  Dr. Swanson obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education, and Doctor of Education degree in Educational Planning, Policy and Leadership from the prestigious College of William and Mary.  Alexis is passionate about supporting K-12 educational leaders in developing, shaping, enhancing, and implementing sound practices which ensure equal educational opportunities for all students. Her overall vision is to be an educator whose leadership inspires excellence and provokes social changes within the educational community.
