Multilingual Learners Conference

mll logo

This two-day event is designed to improve educational practices in our schools and classrooms on behalf of multilingual learners. The first day of this two-day event will feature SURN’s highly regarded Multilingual Learners 101 Workshop; if you haven’t attended in the past, here’s your chance! The second day, designed as a conference-style event, will deepen and refresh your learning and thinking about the important work of reaching and teaching multilingual learners. Join us for one day or both!

Multilingual Learners 101 Workshop

Do you have English Learners in your class and wonder how to meet their learning needs? Join us as we explore the fundamentals of teaching students for whom English is a second or other language. This one-day interactive workshop will provide an understanding of how multilingual learners acquire social and academic language and how we can more effectively teach them. We'll explore how to build background knowledge, identify and teach academic language, and provide language and reading practice across the content areas.
