    The School Psychology Program is an innovative 3-year program in which students begin working within schools during their first semester.

    The School-University Research Network (SURN) began in 1993 as a partnership of the School of Education with the Virginia school systems to conduct relevant research and provide professional development in order to promote quality teaching and learning.
  8. Secondary Education
    The Secondary School Teaching M.A.Ed. programs includes educational foundations course work, methods and curriculum courses relevant to their teaching specialty, clinical and student teaching experiences.
  9. Special Education
    The master's degree program in Special Education: General Curriculum (K-12) prepares special education teachers to work in a variety of educational settings.
  10. Student Organizations
    In the School of Education, there are three organizations for students to actively participate in at the graduate level.
  11. Smoking
    The School of Education is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building, in front of the building, or in the courtyard. The loading dock is the only designated smoking area.
  12. Security and Access to Building
    Access Cards [W&M Express] - All Education faculty, staff, and SOE graduate assistants (as of September) will have card reader access to the building. Campus Police performs the coding of the card key system with authorization of the Building Manager.
  13. Scheduling Space
    Rooms available for meetings and other events are scheduled via EMS: http://reservations.wm.edu/VirtualEms/. Every Education employee and student has access to this system to reserve space. To view SOE locations, users must enter CAMPUS\username at the account log in. The PDC Coordinator manages access to Matoaka Woods, Dogwood, and Holly meeting rooms, as well as the Board Room and other public spaces.
  14. Shower Room
    To encourage walking/biking to work and exercising during the workday, a shower room (#1105) is available for faculty, staff, and student use. Users are responsible for removing all personal items and leaving shower rooms as clean as possible.
