Jocelyn Boayue, Krissa Loretto, Parthena Savides, Kate Wessman, and Sarah Rae SVEA

The Student Virginia Education Association (SVEA) has been engaged in a variety of important outreach activities during the fall semester. Under the leadership team of Sarah Lilly, President, Joselyn Boayue, Vice President, Sarah Rae, Treasurer, Krissa Loretto, Secretary, Jill Found, Grant Writing, and Stephanie Severn, Community Outreach, the SVEA organized two workshops—resume development for pre-service teachers and a college essay workshop for high school students. Recently, members of SVEA read holiday books to children at the Williamsburg Regional Library. In addition they have collected items for a charity called Erase the Need to assist families in the local community. Next spring, they will partner with Christopher Newport University for various professional development workshops and will attend the annual SVEA convention.  If you would like to join SVEA, contact Dr. Gail McEachron, faculty advisor.
