Ashley Cambridge Wilson Ide
Named assistant principal of Barron Elementary School in Hampton
Ashley Ide has been named assistant principal of Barron Elementary School in Hampton.
Last year Ms. Ide, a 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher (US History II) at Phenix PreK-8 School, Hampton City Schools, was named the 2012 Teacher of the Year.
Ashley graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor's in Political Science and minor in History in 2006. In 2007, she graduated with a Master's in Teaching History and Social Sciences, also from CNU. She graduated May 13, 2012 from the College of William and Mary with a Master's in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership.
She said, "I love to learn new things and keep active. In my free time I love to read, spend time with family, play softball, and travel to the mountains of Virginia. It is because my colleagues continually inspire me, believe in me, and support me that I can be who I am."
