Higher Education Alumna and Students Receive Awards
Two Higher Education students and one alumna were recognized by the W&M Division of Student Affairs on April 10, 2013.
Higher Education master's students Aimee Stright and Dan Gardener each received the Phoenix Award, which was established by the Parents Association after the Jefferson Hall fire in 1983 to honor student employees "for service to the College and its students clearly demonstrating a commitment to others and exemplary leadership without regard to personal sacrifice."
Shylan Scott Ph.D., '12 received the Omicron Delta Kappa Campus Improvement Award, which was created and first presented in 1995. This award is given to an individual, campus organization, or new initiative that has significantly enhanced and improved the W&M experience. Dr. Scott is the Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Housing at the College of William and Mary.
