Traveling to China
This Spring break I had the opportunity to travel to China with students in the EPPL Higher Education and Counseling programs as part of the Global Studies course on Teaching and Learning in China. We visited three universities one in Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai. We had the opportunity to speak with Chinese students in similar programs, tour the campuses, and attend classes. Comparative to the US, higher education in China has its similarities and differenceIt was an amazing experience; one that I am not sure would have been afforded to me if I wasn’t here at William and Mary. During the trip we had the opportunity to visit many cultural and historic sites. Some of our excursions were walking on the Great Wall of China, visiting the pits of the Terracotta Warriors, riding bicycles on the city wall in Xian, and going to the one hundredth floor in the tallest building in Shanghai, China are just some of the highlights from the trip. The food was amazing and most of us developed a new found love of drinking tea.
