To find an internship that pays!
It is hard to believe that it is already the middle of October! As a second year in the School Psychology program, it is time for me to start thinking about where I want to do my internship. Mock internship interviews are even coming up in a couple of weeks, ahh! I know that ultimately, I’d love to be up near Charlottesville. I attended the University of Virginia for my undergrad, and I absolutely fell in love with the area. I loved all of the opportunities to hike up there, go wine tasting, visit Wintergreen, and visit the Natural Bridge. I also loved Charlottesville’s love for supporting local businesses and restaurants. However, I know by limiting myself to a specific area, I’m limiting myself in job opportunities and internship opportunities. Plus, I am hoping to find an internship that pays! All that is to say, I am finding out very quickly that what I thought I wanted to do and where I wanted to go is likely going to change. While I am okay with change, the idea of not knowing where I will be next year is a little anxiety provoking. It will certainly be interesting to see what the next few months bring!
