What is your current job?

Coordinator of Assessment & Accountability

What are your research interests?
Because of my current position, I am currently researching and learning more about the role and impacts of formative assessments on improving classroom instruction

Why did you choose W&M?
After taking on leadership positions within Prince George County Public Schools, I realized there was much more that I needed to learn about educational leadership.  Many of my colleagues who hold degrees from W&M spoke positively of the professors in the School of Education, which made the choice to enroll very easy.

What is your favorite thing about the program?
The courses offered through the EPPL M.Ed. program have really enhanced my understanding of what educational leadership encompasses.  I appreciate that the professors in the EPPL program have held leadership positions in public K-12 education.  Their expertise of the course topics does not come solely from research and past education.  It comes from real life experiences that they can use to reinforce the topics covered throughout the program.

How has attending William & Mary impacted your career to date?
The knowledge I have gained from the EPPL program so far has allowed me to participate in building-level and division-level leadership discussions more confidently.  I have also gained a network of colleagues in other districts who I can lean on in future leadership endeavors.
