Virginia Board for People With Disabilities:

VBPD Coronavirus Safety for the Disability Community - We have compiled resources specifically tailored to the disability community:

The health and safety of people with disabilities, their caregivers and support staff, VBPD Board members and staff, and all Virginians are the highest priority for the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities. We are taking active steps to ensure the safest and smoothest operations in this challenging time:

Board staff are regularly sharing relevant content from the Governor, Attorney General, other public health agencies, and relevant government officials with updates on the coronavirus situation here and across the country. To see these updates, please follow us on Facebook.

  • We have adjusted our public schedule, canceled public meetings over the next 45 days, and are evaluating all activities moving forward, as well as proactively evaluating and implementing ways to protect our staff and Board members over the course of their work for the Board.

  • We are collaborating with stakeholders and other advocacy organizations to identify needs and provide consistent messaging.

  • We are ensuring the needs and concerns of people with disabilities are heard and acknowledged during multiple coronavirus planning meetings with state agencies.
