Khadejah Jackson M.Ed.’26 exemplifies academic excellence, principled leadership and a deep commitment to community engagement. In her nomination letter, Assistant Professor Erica Wiborg describes Khadejah as “a driven and insightful graduate student who has an outstanding academic record and has excelled in her professional practice as a police officer for William & Mary.” Whether in the classroom or in professional settings, Khadejah cultivates environments where individuals feel safe, respected and connected.

Khadejah’s academic journey reflects both rigor and purpose. She will graduate with a master’s degree in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. Her coursework and applied learning highlight a strong ability to connect theory to practice, particularly in the areas of leadership, change and global perspectives in higher education. During a global studies course which included study abroad in Ireland, she demonstrated a deep commitment to experiential learning and global perspectives of education. She has since become a fierce advocate for immersive leadership experiences amongst her peers.

Beyond academics, Khadejah has distinguished herself as a public servant and campus leader. As a police officer and community engagement officer at William & Mary, she strengthened trust between law enforcement and the university community. Balancing full-time work responsibilities with school, she has served as a School of Education Ambassador and a member of the Chief’s Advisory Committee and Office of Inclusive Excellence Advisory Committee. Her contributions have made a lasting impact.

As a student, public servant and leader, Khadejah models the qualities deserving of the School of Education’s Award for Excellence. Congratulations, Khadejah!
