Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership – Higher Education Administration

Courses in the Higher Education Administration doctoral program provide advanced study of topics such as organizational theory and governance in PK-12 schools and higher education; the institutional roles of faculty and career development as it pertains to college curriculum; and higher education operations management, from organizational and legal principles to human resources.

Doctoral candidates conduct original research that contributes to higher educational scholarship with the potential to transform policy and practice in colleges, universities, government and non-profits. Dissertation topics reflect the broad scope of the program, spanning areas such as leadership, student affairs, internationalization and student success.

Students engage in research collaborations, scholarly presentations, professional leadership opportunities and international learning experiences that connect theory to practice and prepare graduates for careers in academia, policy and higher education leadership.

Application materials include your unofficial transcript(s), a personal statement, a resume/CV, and three recommendations. This program also requires applicants to submit a research paper to demonstrate their preparedness for doctoral-level study.
