Dyslexia Team Members
Mary Murray Stowe, the team lead, is a specialist with the Training and Technical Assistance Center at William & Mary, and currently the Virginia Coordinator of Specialized Reading Instruction. Mary serves as the Co-President Elect of the Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (or IDA) and has been the past president of the Alabama branch.
Shannon Duncan is a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia in Virginia and a parent of a child with dyslexia. Shannon provides reading instruction to individuals with dyslexia as well.
Judith Fontana is a specialist with the Training and Technical Assistance Center at George Mason University and adjunct faculty with the University.
Cathy Gregory is the Director of Student Services for the lower school at Collegiate, and is the past president of the Virginia Branch of IDA.
Kristin Matz Kane is a senior advisor for Early Childhood Development at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and also a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia in Virginia. Kristin is the parent of children with dyslexia.
Ruth McLachlan during the development of these modules was a specialist with the TTAC at Radford University. Ruth currently works as a consultant to divisions around reading instruction.
Karen Rooney (reviewed modules) provides educational evaluations and services in private practice, and has served on the board of the International Dyslexia Association.
Mary Beth Mueller provides graphic design and web-based services for the TTAC at William & Mary.
