Ceremony Details
Dissertation Chairs will have the opportunity to continue our SOE tradition of cording our newly minted Ph.D.'s and Ed.D.'s at this event. Please plan to wear regalia to the ceremony.
We ask that the faculty please report to the Holly room and students to the Dogwood room no later than 2:30 p.m. so they can line up for the procession into the Matoaka Woods room. Students will process behind the Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs and faculty.
Graduates will come forward to be recognized, and the dissertation chair and committee members will join the graduate to cord and celebrate them. Graduates will hand their name cards to the Associate Dean to read their name, degree and dissertation title.
At the ceremony's end, the Dean, and faculty will lead the students out of Matoaka and into Dogwood, where we will offer a wine and cheese reception.
