Minor in Educational Studies
Concentrations in Global Education or Policy & Equity
Explore the role of education in shaping individuals, communities and societies. Offered through a partnership between William & Mary’s Arts & Sciences and the School of Education, the Minor in Educational Studies provides undergraduate students from any major with an interdisciplinary understanding of education in local, national and global contexts.
Students choose from two concentrations — Global Education or Policy & Equity — to examine the complex social, cultural, political and economic forces that influence educational systems and opportunities. Through coursework and hands-on experiential learning, students develop the knowledge and skills to work with youth and adults, contribute to education policy and research, and address pressing educational challenges across diverse settings.

We encourage students to reach out to the program coordinator early for advising. All students declaring a minor must do so by the end of the add/drop period of their graduating semester.
