Bio
Mary joined the T/TAC at W&M team in July of 2008. She has earned her B.A. and M.Ed. from James Madison University, with special education certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Ed.D. from National University in Special Education. Mary has worked in both general and special education with a focus on the acquisition of appropriate reading skills and intensification of instructional strategies, bringing forward a broad range of experience with students with disabilities and multilingual learners with learning disabilities. Throughout her years in the field, Mary has provided support and instruction to students in both the co-taught setting and skill-specific classes. Mary holds credentials with the Strategic Instruction Model™ (SIM™) as a Professional Developer in Learning Strategies and Content Enhancement Routines (in apprenticeship), and with Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) as a Local Facilitator in the Third Edition and Classic Trainer.
