Mathematics Vocabulary Word Wall Cards
These visuals, created by Mary Murray Stowe and LaShauna Britt at the Training and Technical Assistance Center at William & Mary, are especially helpful in reinforcing consistent and formal mathematic vocabulary.

Enable spoken text on devices:

  • iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Turn on Speak Screen. Options are availble for control of highlighting text, select voices, and speed of the spoken text.

Provides passages by grade level or Lexile level, as well as voicing for students to read independently and respond to questions.

High Frequency Word Lists
A number of the high frequency word lists are available for selection from which to teach these words.
Dolch Word Lists:
Orton Gillingham Red Words List
"Red Words" are the non-phonetic words, meaning that they don’t follow the usual phonics rules. Red words are generally called "Sight Words." Instead of stopping to decode these words, students are taught to recognize them immediately by sight.
