Priorities

Four collective impact priorities emerged in the School of Education based on the goals and initiatives outlined in the university’s strategic plan, Vision 2026. These priorities define the School of Education’s ongoing, measurable impact aligned with our vision and mission.

Priority #1

Delivering Programs that Serve the Commonwealth & Profession

We train education professionals who are prepared to serve an increasingly diverse population, especially in high demand areas, using multiple delivery modalities.

Priority #2

Providing Opportunities for Sustained, Immersive Experiences

We provide all students the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to positively impact outcomes for an increasingly diverse population using co-constructed, mutually beneficial immersive experiences that are developed and delivered through partnerships.

Priority #3

Conducting Research & Scholarship of Consequence

We engage in and disseminate rigorous, ongoing and actionable research that impacts education practice and policy.

Priority #4

Building Strong & Just Institutions

We leverage partnerships to advocate vigorously for policies and practices that advance democratic principles and provide equality of educational opportunity for all, especially those who have been underserved.

Vision 2026

William & Mary has led in powerful ways during the most challenging times. The key to that success has been understanding the moment that we are in while seeing the possibilities ahead. William & Mary will move forward Vision 2026 to expand W&M’s reach, educate for impact and evolve to excel.
