According to the website CounselingPsychology.org, the School of Education’s online M.Ed. in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling is ranked “best for social justice minded future school counselors.” Both this track and the M.Ed. in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Military and Veterans are among the top in the Commonwealth.

“The school counseling pathway is designed for students who want to support children and adolescents in K-12 settings, while the clinical route maps to Virginia LPC requirements. Both options are built for working professionals and lean heavily on social justice, advocacy, and culturally responsive practice.”
