Adjunct Faculty Robin Norris, LPC, presented at the Dyslexia Symposium at Virginia Commonwealth University on Nov. 8, 2025. She discussed the mental health impacts that can accompany challenges with dyslexia and dysgraphia, emphasizing that awareness must extend beyond schools because both conditions are lifelong. She also shared practical resources — including books, films and guiding questions — to help deepen understanding of individuals’ experiences. Project Specialist at the W&M T/TAC Mary Stowe also presented on the new definition of dyslexia on behalf of the Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (VBIDA). The book “Writing Right,” highlighted during the session, was written by W&M alumna Cassie Baker '25.
