We are thrilled to announce that Janise S. Parker, Virginia L. McLaughlin Associate Professor of School Psychology, has published her latest book, “Religious and Spiritual Diversity in K-12 Schools,” which was released this August by Oxford University Press.
This publication aims to aid school-aged students by exploring and honoring religious and spiritual diversity within K-12 schools, including elementary and secondary classrooms. The text provides case studies and applicable exercises that simulate “real world” scenarios for how educators and school mental health providers can give space for religious diversity within the school. There are also quick reference tips and discussion questions that will allow readers to explore where they may need further growth and where they already have relevant skills and knowledge. Overall, this book aims to be a “Culturally responsive academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.”
