Clinical Associate Professor and Counseling Clinical Experience Director Noelle St. Germain-Sehr has co-authored “Differences in After-Death Communications: A Comparative Analysis of Unexpected vs. Expected Deaths and Their Impact on Survivors’ Grief and Perception of Death.” Findings suggest that regardless of the context of bereavement, after-death communication (ADC) “is a powerful, healing experience” and “emphasize the importance of ADC in regard to positively shifting existential fears, uncertainties about death, and bereavement recovery.”
