Faith Newton Ed.S. '91, Ed.D. '94 was honored prior to her retirement with the title of Professor for Student Advising, a prestigious Delaware State University award given annually to one faculty member in each of four categories: service, teaching, advising and research. 

In addition to receiving this title, Newton contributed significantly at the national level, working with the Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health to develop Fact Sheets for student teachers working with high functioning students who have invisible diseases such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). These widely used resources provided essential guidance for parents and administrators on how to support these students and accommodations needed to complete their K-12 academic years.
