Meet the HESA Board

Sydney Manlove, President 

Sydney is a second-year M.Ed. student in the Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership program. She loves Williamsburg and is excited to be working on her second degree from William & Mary, having recently graduated with a B.S. in Psychological Sciences. Sydney currently serves as a Graduate Assistant with Campus Recreation where she also enjoys teaching group fitness classes! She has experience working in Student Accountability & Restorative Practices and has served as Co-Chair of the Undergraduate Honor Council and as Student Assembly Representative in the Graduate Education Association. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music and podcasts, baking, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.

Nathaniel Appiah, Vice President 

Nathaniel is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Economics Education from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Nathaniel is known for his strong emphasis on inclusivity, social justice, and equality. His dedication to creating an environment where all voices are heard and valued shines through in his work and interactions with others. He serves as a Graduate Assistant here at the School of Education. At his leisure, he enjoys jogging, reading, and playing soccer.

Director of Programming, Chloe Jones 

Chloe is a first-year M.Ed. student in the Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership program. She loves W&M and Williamsburg, having recently graduated with a B.A. in Psychological Sciences as well as a B.A. in Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies from William & Mary this past spring. She holds a Graduate Assistantship in the Student Leadership Development (SLD) Office, focusing on creating, facilitating, and coordinating leadership programs. She loved being so involved as an undergraduate student and is excited to support students on the other side as a GA, providing them with resources and opportunities for leadership development. 

Director of Communication, Katie Tuberosa 

Katie is a first-year graduate student in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. She graduated from Villanova University this past May with a B.A. in Communication. Katie attributes her passion for supporting students holistically to the incredible support system and opportunities she discovered during her undergraduate experience. As the GA for New Student Orientation, Katie co-advises the Orientation Area Directors (OADs) who oversee the Orientation Aides (OAs) and supports their leadership development and programming. Katie also serves as the Secretary of the Graduate Education Honor Council and a School of Education Ambassador. You can find Katie performing or exploring CW in her free time!
