Chi Sigma Iota - Omega Mu Chapter
Chi Sigma Iota is the international honor society for professional counseling. Established in 1985, Chi Sigma Iota was created to promote and recognize outstanding academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling. Counselors-in-training, counselor educators, and professional counselors alike who are committed to research and service can unite through Chi Sigma Iota.
William & Mary School of Education is home to the Omega Mu Chapter. The executive board works to create both professional development and philanthropic events and opportunities for the William & Mary counseling community. Additionally, members work to create a newsletter to stay connected with current students, members, alumni, and the Williamsburg community!
To be eligible for membership, members must hold a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and have completed 9 hours of graduate coursework in counseling as a master’s or doctoral student in counseling. The Omega Mu chapter sends out invitations for membership once a year in late January and initiates new members once a year in February.
