Recognized for Sustained Service to Public Schools
Dr. Drew Polly '99 finished his fifth year as an assistant professor in Elementary Education at UNC-Charlotte where he was recognized by the UNC Charlotte College of Education for his Sustained Service to Public Schools.
He is directing 2 large grants for elementary mathematics teachers total over $2.6 million focused on standards-based mathematics teaching.
Areas of Interest and Research: Research and teaching focus on supporting pre-service and in-service teachers design and implementation of learner-centered tasks. Work explores how teacher education and professional development programs can most effectively support teachers' efforts to integrate technology and learner-centered tasks into their classroom.
