Joy Lawson Davis, MA.Ed. '92, Ed.D. '08 has written a new book that was released December 1 entitled Bright, Talented and Black: A Guide for Families of African American Gifted Learners. The book is available via Great Potential Press, Amazon, and other major book dealers.

Dr. Davis was appointed Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Louisiana - Lafayette in August 2009. She received her M.A.Ed. in Gifted Education (1992) and Ed.D. (2008) from William & Mary in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership. She was awarded the School of Education Award of Excellence for Master's Students in 1992.
