About
Ailidh is a doctoral candidate in the Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership – Gifted Education Administration program. They received their master's degree from Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Gifted Education and Talent Development in 2021. Ailidh worked in a refugee city in a suburban school as a middle grades teacher, teaching advanced Reading, Mathematics, and Ancient History. They also taught gifted enrichment classes for grades K-12 at WKU. Their research interests include queer and trans policy and practices in higher education, queer and trans policy and practices in rural education, and religious influences within educational policy, practices, and expectational norms. Ailidh's favorite part about studying at William & Mary is that the faculty are extremely supportive and knowledgeable, students are encouraged to pursue passions, and it is the highest quality program centered around social justice.
