About
Sojung (she/her) is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership – Gifted Education Administration. She received her master's degree in Foreign Language Education – English from Seoul National University and her bachelor's degree from Ewha Womans University in Korea. Sojung taught English in both private educational settings and a public high school. Her current research focuses on equity in gifted education, particularly how sociocultural factors and educational policies shape gifted students' educational experiences and opportunities. She serves as a Graduate Assistant at the School of Education.
What's your favorite course (so far)?
All of the core requirement courses and research methodology courses were meaningful for my academic growth. The core courses were interconnected and helped build a theoretical foundation aligned with the goals of the program. The research methodology courses motivated me to further deepen my interest in research methodologies.
What's your favorite spot in Williamsburg?
The coffee shops at Colonial Williamsburg!
What's a fun fact about you?
I wanted to become a fashion designer, so I learned illustration and interned at Cosmopolitan magazine.
