What's your favorite course (so far)?
My favorite course so far has been Social Justice Praxis in Higher Education. I appreciated how it pushed me to look beyond individual-level solutions and think critically about the systems and structures that shape students' experiences on campus. It gave me practical language and tools to bring a more equity-minded lens to my work in student engagement.
What's your favorite spot in Williamsburg?
My favorite thing to do in Williamsburg is spend the afternoon at Second Sundays, the monthly arts and music festival downtown. I love strolling past the local artists and vendors, listening to live music, and soaking up the community atmosphere. It's one of my favorite ways to unwind and feel connected to the Williamsburg community beyond campus.
What's a fun fact about you?
I grew up in Hawaii! Growing up in such a close-knit, community-oriented place shaped a lot of who I am and is a big part of why I'm drawn to building community in my work. These days, when I'm not on campus, you can usually find me baking something new, curled up with a good book, or relaxing with a coloring page.
