Gratitude Events

Take ten minutes (or more!) to unwind and connect.

As part of W&M Education Week, join us for daily afternoon activities designed to help students, faculty and staff de-stress and make deeper connections with the community. We’ll have a series of activities and treats every afternoon, Monday through Thursday, to show gratitude for the extraordinary work that the practicing and aspiring educators in our community are doing.

Monday, November 17

Hot Chocolate/Coffee Bar + Student Org. Fair
3:00 - 4:30 p.m. in the Student Lounge on the 2nd Floor
Join us for a Ben & Jerry’s hot chocolate and coffee bar featuring multiple flavors, toppings and biscotti. Pick up some School of Education swag and meet student leaders. If you’d to write a thank you card to an important educator in your life, we’ll deliver the cards with a piece of candy attached!

Tuesday, November 18

Thursday, November 20

Inclusive Mentorship Event + Sweet and Salty Snacks
3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in Matoaka Woods
Join Associate Dean and Director of Inclusive Excellence Leandra Parris for brief presentations and a chance to learn more from faculty members about how to engage in inclusive mentorship as the mentee. We’ll provide opportunities to simply listen or to ask questions about related topics, such as selecting a research topic, seeking mentorship, and finding a good match. We’ll also provide wellness/art activities and  enjoy sweet and salty snacks!

**All treats and activities are first-come, first-served.
**We're grateful for the generous partnerships with the Muscarelle Museum and the Learning Resource Center.
