Sabrina Leahy M.A.Ed. '16
Sabrina Leahy M.A.Ed. '16 is a Science Teacher and Science Learning Facilitator for Charlottesville City Schools.
After completion of the M.A.Ed. Secondary Science Education program at William & Mary, Leahy began her teaching career in Newport News Public Schools where she worked as a middle school science teacher, school improvement coordinator, and department chair. During that time, Leahy also served as a clinical faculty member for the School of Education, mentoring numerous pre-service student teachers and interns. She currently has a dual role teaching sixth grade science and supporting other teachers with their curriculum and instruction as the science coach for Walker Upper Elementary School in Charlottesville City Schools.
"Those I had the opportunity to learn from at William & Mary's School of Education helped shape my understanding of a variety of effective, research-based instructional strategies that I'd later put into practice in the classroom," says Leahy. "These essential foundations not only helped me to implement the highest quality instruction for my own diverse student population, but also the skills to support and inspire my colleagues to raise the bar for the achievement of all students."
