Tutoring and Job Opportunities

The School of Education shares position announcements as a service to our students and to our partners in the field, but does not endorse specific positions.

The 4-H Junior Camp 2026 at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center is currently looking for one male adult volunteer who is comfortable working with youth.

What this opportunity looks like:

  • Timeline: Preparation and training will begin soon, with camp taking place during our 2026 camp week (July 20th to 24th)
  • Cost: This is a no-cost volunteer experience
    • Meals provided
    • Lodging covered
  • Role:
    • Help supervise campers during downtime and transitions (when program staff are not actively leading activities)
    • Be a positive, supportive presence for youth throughout the week
  • Flexibility:
    • There is built-in flexibility during the day
    • If someone works remotely or needs to step away while campers are with program staff, that can be accommodated
  • Key expectation:
    • Overnight presence and availability during non-program hours is the biggest need

Additional benefit:

Adults who volunteer—and have children—may have an opportunity this year or next for their child to attend 4-H Junior Camp at no cost.

This is a fun, meaningful, and high-impact experience that supports our youth while also offering a flexible environment for adults who want to give back.

Ideally, this volunteer should live in the greater Williamsburg area, especially during the summer, or be willing to drive to our training events and camp.

Please contact Isaiah Morton if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.

Local family is looking for child care for before/after school now and full-time help this summer! We have a 7-year old Autistic son with some disabilities, but no medical complexities, and a 10-year old son needing childcare. We are looking for before school care Monday through Friday and afterschool care Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Before school care would begin at around 6-7am and end at 9:30am and afterschool care would begin at 4pm end at around 6pm. Once the school year comes to an end we are expecting full time childcare between 7/8am to 4/5pm. CPR-certified is a must as well as having reliable transportation. My wife works at the police department and I work at the fire department, so punctuality, consistency, and reliability is a necessity. Three friendly dogs in the household. Interested student should contact Jesalyn or Ryan Moore directly:
