The first floor of the west wing houses the School of Education Professional Development Center to accommodate conferences, meetings, and special events. Three main meeting rooms (Matoaka Woods, Dogwood, and Holly), a Boardroom, hallway, and patios comprise the PDC public spaces. A loading dock and materials preparation room support PDC functions. The PDC can accommodate up to 400 participants when rooms are set theater style. Adjacent classrooms may be scheduled as additional breakout spaces. PDC fee schedules have been established to serve three user groups: Tier 1—SOE/W&M groups; Tier 2—University sponsored groups; and Tier 3—External groups. All events must be booked through the PDC Events Manager who can also assist users in obtaining needed services (e.g., AV support, catering, parking).
