Candidate competency at completion

(R3.3) Data provided should relate to measures the EPP is using to determine if candidates are meeting program expectations and ready to be recommended for licensure. (E.g.: EPP’s Title II report, data that reflect the ability of EPP candidates to meet licensing and state requirements or other measures the EPP uses to determine candidate competency at completion.)

Measure Three (Initial and Advanced)

Data for the 2024-2025 academic year includes the mean scores for all test takers on the Praxis Subject Assessments. These scores are reported below to represent the candidate quality at completion for the initial programs as well as the School Psychology and K12 Administration program. We have added all test score reporting, rather than solely graduates, to encompass a measurement of non-completers, as well as students who fail on the first attempt. 100% of graduating students passed the appropriate Praxis test. The median test score data was taken from ETS publications on test scores from 2025.

The School Counseling program has designed an instrument to measure counseling competencies on exit from the program, the Counselor Education Comprehensive Exam.

The School Counseling program measured competencies of students during their internship; the final field experience before the student graduates. This EPP-created assessment measures student competency in 17 general counseling areas and 15 specific school counseling areas. The majority of students performed at an exemplary level for all rubric elements, and improvement All counseling students performed particularly high in the areas of Listening Skills and Therapeutic Relationships, and school counseling students performed particularly well in the areas of Individual Counseling, Collaboration, and consultation.
