MULTIPLE LEVELS; MULTIPLE PROGRAMS
Barton Malow Fellowship For a newly admitted doctoral student from Virginia, must be a Virginia resident.  This fellowship will provide $5,000 annually to supplement the graduate assistant package. Provided for recruitment purposes, it will continue to fund a new doctoral student each year through 2017. Alternates between SPACE & EPPL.   EPPL 2015-2016 & 2016-2017, SPACE 2017-2018. $5,000* Given for Recruitment
Dawn Benson Memorial Scholarship For academically distinguished students in gifted education programs in either C&I or EPPL.  Preference given to students with international backgrounds or experiences. $2,320* Apply
Dean Bettker Memorial Scholarship For an academically distinguished, financially-needy student who is not graduating in the spring. Preference will be given to students who were born or whose permanent residence is Western New York.  Undergraduate or graduate. $1,873* Apply
Tieso Family Scholarship For in-service educators who are enrolled part-time in a master's degree program in the School of Education at The College of William & Mary.  Preference will be given to educators currently working in the following school divisions:  New Kent County, Newport News, York County, or Williamsburg-James City County $1,000* Apply
Harry Robert Elmore Memorial Scholarship For academically distinguished graduate student, who is a Virginia state resident. Alternates between SPACE, C&I, and EPPL.  EPPL 2015-2016; SPACE 2016-2017, C&I 2017-2018.

S. Stuart Flanagan Family Graduate Fellowship For doctoral  students in EPPL or counseling who demonstrate significant financial need; academic excellence; service to others; creativity; and entrepreneurial interests.  Preference given to residents of VA and counselor education students. $1,800* Apply
Armand J. and Mary Faust Galfo Education Research Award For support of doctoral students while they complete the research for the dissertation.  Awarded to students demonstrating outstanding promise in educational research design through excellence in coursework in research design and data analysis. Students should be beginning the dissertation phase in their programs.  This award is applied to the fall semester. Not a graduation award. $14,000* Apply in Spring semester only
Kappa Delta Pi Achievement Award For graduate student who is an active Kappa Delta Pi member who submits an essay to the Academic Affairs Committee. $500

Frances & Robert Nelson Memorial Scholarship For undergraduate or graduate students pursuing careers in either teaching or educational administration and who embody the qualities of professional competence, commitment to education and love of teaching and learning. Alternates between the EPPL and C&I area. C&I 2015-2016; EPPL 2016-2017. $1000* Apply
Barbara M. Welch Graduate Fellowship For degree seeking graduate students in the School of Education.   $2,000* Apply
Christopher Wren Association Scholarship For a part-time graduate student who is academically distinguished and exhibits an understanding of life-long learning. $3,000 Given for Recruitment

S. Stuart Flanagan NHFCC Scholarship For graduate students in the School of Education's Family Counseling program, who are also working in the New Horizons Family Counseling Center, and who have demonstrated unmet financial need, as well as a demonstrated commitment to service.   $1,551 Apply
Kevin E. Geoffroy Memorial Fellowship For an academically distinguished graduate student in the Counseling Program.

Dean Howard K. Holland Scholarship For graduate students in the School of Education who have demonstrated a commitment to service and motivation to work in the field of counselor education. $500 Apply
Helen C. Hopper Memorial Scholarship For students pursuing a Master's degree in counseling and has demonstrated a special interest and commitment to family counseling and family life education.

Frances C. Hudgins Memorial Scholarship The Frances C. Hudgins Memorial Scholarship award was created to  provide support for the teaching or study of Guidance and Counseling in the School of Education at the College of William and Mary. $5,000* Apply

Catherine Nesmith Perez Memorial Scholarship For graduate students in the School Psychology program.  Preference given to students pursuing a post-master's degree. TBD TBD

Edward E. Brickell Scholarship For an academically distinguished graduate student, pursuing a program in K-12 administration and participating in the School Leader Partner Program.   $1,000* Apply
Chamberlin Higher Education Recruitment Award For entering, full-time students in the Higher Education master's program.  Student must be on assistantship. TBD Given for Recruitment
Chandler Family Scholarship For one or more graduate students with demonstrated financial need and who have demonstrated a commitment to the field of education through previous endeavors.   Preference should be given to female residents of Virginia who are enrolled in the Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership program. $500* Apply
Educational Leadership International Student Scholarship To support international graduate students pursuing a degree in K-12 Administration.   Preference will be given to doctoral students who are enrolled full time.   $1,000* Apply
Finnegan-Parker Higher Education International Research Award To support doctoral candidates in the Higher Education program who are pursuing international research for the dissertation project. $2.000* Apply
David W. Leslie Research Award To provide financial assistance for doctoral research for students in the EPPL Higher Education Program. $1,000* Apply
Martha L. Muguira Fellowship For graduate students in the Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership program. Preference is given to Hispanic or Latino women who have financial need.   $1,924* Given for Recruitment
Mary L. Murphy Scholarship To provide financial assistance to deserving students in the School of Education who are pursuing careers in leadership positions at an elementary school and/or pre-K-12 administration. For students in K-12 Administration programs. $1,960* Apply
SURN Virginia L. McLaughlin Collaborative Leadership Award For a  graduate student from a SURN partner school division.  The awardee will evidence the leadership attributes for which SURN honors Dr. Virginia L. McLaughlin. $500 Apply
Thom Terwilliger Higher Education Fellowship For full-time doctoral students in the Higher Education program. The Terwilliger Fellows will work directly for Higher Education faculty supporting research in the field while also promoting the professional development and research agenda of the graduate student.  $3,177* Apply

Matthew W. Hershberger Memorial Scholarship To support graduate students pursuing a degree in Special Education.   Preference will be given to those students who completed the undergraduate degree from William and Mary. $1,000* Given for Recruitment
Jennings Family Scholarship For students in the Graduate School of Education with financial need and with a preference for a student pursuing a degree in Literacy Leadership, who is a legal resident of Virginia and who has stated his/her intention to teach in Virginia. $2,000* Given for Recruitment
Frances J. Smith Memorial Scholarship For a graduate student pursuing the master's program in Secondary English Education.  Preference given to a student who completed his/her undergraduate degree at The College of William and Mary.  $800 Apply

Secondary Math - For one undergraduate and one graduate student in math education with academic qualifications and honors and financial need.

Hornsby Family Scholarship Elementary - For an undergraduate or graduate student in the School of Education who is preparing to teach at the primary grade levels and who understands the importance of establishing and nurturing positive relations between home and school and between families. $1,000* Given for Recruitment
Patriot Heritage Scholarship For Social Studies Education Secondary Social Studies - For meritorious graduate or undergraduate students interested in teaching social studies. $4,000* Given for Recruitment
The Peter and Phyllis Pruden Scholarship Elementary - For an undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Education, concentrating in elementary education who show financial need, academic distinction and good character; must be from VA, NC or TN. $5,000* Given for Recruitment
James E. & Barbara B. Ukrop Richmond City Public School Teacher Scholarship For an undergraduate or graduate student preparing to teach in critical shortage areas, who agrees to teach in the Richmond Public Schools. $7,500* Apply
AWARDS GIVEN AT COMMENCEMENT
School of Education Award for Excellence

There are 3 awards to outstanding students: an undergraduate student, a master's degree student and an EdS or doctoral student in recognition of academic and professional excellence as well as outstanding citizenship.  Student must be eligible to participate in the May commencement ceremony.

Awarded annually at the commencement ceremony to a graduate student who embodies the traits of scholarship, character, and service within the School of Education and College community.
