Project Empower

Project Empower is a W&M mentoring program focused on helping students thrive and preventing substance use. Graduate students are trained in evidence-based approaches and assigned to local schools identified as being at-risk or in need. Students receive supervision from faculty and doctoral students in the counselor education program at W&M.

THRIVE Community Group

The THRIVE Community Group is a meeting of like-minded and like-hearted community researchers and community partners committed to bridging the gap between research and community service.

VPRJ THRIVE Group  

This group is a mindfulness and hope-focused intervention provided by students in the counseling program at W&M for women at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. The curriculum is designed to reduce recidivism and promote thriving for returning citizens.

Kuder Project Hope

In partnership with Kuder career planning services, we provide a program to assist those who are now unemployed develop hope and resilience, cope with the stress of unemployment, and find the pathways to regain employment. At the center of this initiative is one of Thrive's core interventions, the Hope Action Model developed by Spencer Niles.

Humanity and Peace Education

In partnership with Aegis Trust, a mass violence prevention organization, we assist in the development and evaluation of a peace and humanity education curriculum that is being used to prevent violence throughout areas of high conflict in Africa and across the globe.

GPS for Success 

Created by My Life My Power, GPS for Success is an interactive 5-week curriculum providing students in K-12 with social and emotional learning to handle the challenges that may come their way. Through this partnership with THRIVE, we collaborate to evaluate the efficacy of the program as it begins extending outward to helping students across the US.
