The Institute is designed for gifted program coordinators, other district and building-level administrators, teachers of the gifted, and all teachers who want to enhance their ability to differentiate appropriately for their high-ability learners. Sessions on June 21 and 22, 2012 will draw upon existing research and evidence of effective practices in gifted education.

The Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts for grades K–5 and 6 – 12 define what students should understand and be able to do by the end of each grade. They correspond to the College and Career Readiness (CCR) anchor standards. Dr. Joyce VanTassel-Baska received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mensa Education and Research Foundation for her vast contributions to the field of intelligence in a ceremony preceding the National Association of Gifted Children Convention in New Orleans.
