New Student Orientations

New students in the C&I programs should plan to attend orientation on May 29, 2012. New students in the EPPL and SPACE programs should plan to attend orientation on August 28, 2012.

SOE ranks high in US News Top 50 Ranking

The 2013 U.S. News and World report rankings are out and the School of Education at the College of William and Mary continues to be among the top 50 in the recent survey of the nation’s top graduate and professional schools. The School of Education ranked 43rd.

Dean Named to the VA Board of Education

Virginia L. McLaughlin '71, dean of the School of Education at the College of William & Mary, has been named to the Virginia State Board of Education.

New Executive EdD Program in K-12 Administration

New doctoral program in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership for K-12 practitioners. This program maintains the quality of the traditional W&M degree, but in a non-traditional format.

Israeli linquist researches K-12 learning

Conversational discourse in the K12 classroom is usually a teacher-led Initiation-Response-Feedback (IRF) sequence. Fulbright scholar, Hadar Netz, believes that the higher levels of intelligence associated with gifted classrooms may contribute to more creative thinking demonstrated by classroom conversations that are student initiated.
